2016 is the perfect time to change your look. With all the changes happening in the New Year, why not make it a case of out with the old and in with the new? It’s the ideal time to embrace and experiment with different styles. I recently went from a dark brown to an icy blonde. It was a shock at first but I love it. For such a drastic change, I knew I could trust the good team at Salon Dru to take care of my hair. Let me tell you about my experience.
Located in the Plateau, Dru has been around for 20 years. The colorful team of stylists come in all ages, personalities and skill sets. This draws in a very diverse clientele. The salon has 2 faces -- during the day, it’s a quiet and posh hair parlor. After 5, the loud music is pumping and it turns into a real party. And don’t be worrisome if you’re sitting waiting for your rendez-vous or under the hairdryer. They’ve got plenty of espresso, too.
My stylist, Scott Bignell, has been taking care of my hair since I’ve moved to Montreal many moons ago. Because his specialty is blondes, I knew I could trust him with this change. It took about 2 bleaches and a toner and voilà! I got a look that could make the Biebs jealous (or not). While he was transforming my look, I took the liberty of asking Scott about current hair trends. Here’s what he had to say:
‘’For girls, I think my favorite trend right now in colour is balayage, or "hand painted" hair. It allows me to work with the natural movement of the hair to add contrast exactly where it's needed. As for guys, barbering is popular: a lot of haircuts are incorporating traditional barbering techniques like skin fades.’’
Convinced? Visit Dru’s website and set up an appointment before you pull a 2007 Britney. You won’t regret it!
